Toys for Tots Update

Our Toy's For Tot's collection at Sunday's Christmas Party netted 69 toy's. It was a tremendous effort by all concerned and when I delivered them to the Marine Corps Reserves Sumner County Coordinator this afternoon, his often repeated word was "AWESOME".
On behalf of the Marine Corps Reserve, a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our members for supporting such a worthy cause, the children who would have otherwise not received much, if anything, this coming Christmas morning.

Christmas Party

The Chapter Christmas Party was a great success. We had 44 members and guests attending including two new members. The new members were Tod Burnham and Chuck Racine and their wives.

TOYS for TOTS

As part of our community outreach program, members were asked to bring toys to the support the Toys for Tots program sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Joe Heine, our resident Marine, coordinated our efforts. Thanks Joe. Our support in shown on the table full of toys in the above photo. Thanks to all who contributed. You made the Christmas season more joyful for the less fortunate.

Food Bank Support

Another portion of our outreach efforts was to collect food for the Sumner County food banks. A wide variety of foods were donated by Chapter members. Sumner County families will benefit by our generosity. Thanks again to all who contributed.

December Christmas Party

The Sumner County Chapter of MOAA will hold its Christmas party on Sunday, 14 December 2008 at the Bluegrass Country Club. We will meet at 1:30 PM and dinner will be served at 2:00 PM.

Please bring a unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Please bring some non-perishable food items for donation to the local food banks.
